Select a Student

Start by identifying the student you're writing a comment for.

Class Optional
Select a class to load your roster. Students are pulled from your enrolled class list.
Student
Pick a student from the dropdown, or choose "Type Manually" to enter any name. You can also leave the class blank and type a name directly.
Pronouns
Select He/Him, She/Her, or They/Them so the AI uses consistent pronouns throughout the comment.
Class / Subject Name Optional
Enter the name of the class or subject (e.g., "English 10", "AP Biology"). This helps the AI write subject-specific comments rather than generic ones.
Privacy Note: Only the student's first name is sent to the AI. Last names are stripped before the request is made — they never leave the server.

Choose Comment Attributes

Use the dropdown menus to describe the student. Each attribute shapes the AI's comment. Set any attribute to "— Skip —" and the AI won't mention it at all.

Perspective
Choose 1st person ("I have seen..."), 2nd person ("You have shown..."), or 3rd person ("John has shown..."). The AI will write the entire comment consistently in this voice.

Add Context & Style

Mention anything specific — a project they excelled at, a concern, a milestone. This is your free-form input that really personalizes the comment.
Style Sample Optional
Paste one of your own past comments so the AI can match your writing voice. This is saved automatically and reused for every future comment.

Enter phrases you like to use (one per line), such as "continues to demonstrate" or "shows a strong commitment to." The AI will try to incorporate them naturally. These are also saved automatically.
